A weird and wonderful journey awaits you. Vist other realms. Open some doors. Turn on. Tune In. Drop Out. I won’t even bother trying to explain it. You’ll just have to work it out for yourself I think.

I am spending enough time in front of a computer these days that it seems to make sense to learn how to do things a little better. There is always room for improvement, I figured, so I have started setting up simple hotkeys for everyday tasks in Windoze. I had thought about using a clever shortcut program but decided to see if there wasn’t a way using built in Windoze software.Lets face it, part of making our life simpler, is using less of technology not more. Every piece of software you don’t need to use is better as far as I am concerned.

Ever wondered about quickly whipping up a few stickers? I sure have. Making a positive contribution to society ‘n all that. This seal generator site is a useful find and lets ‘An Official Seal sticker’ be created at your meddling in just a few moments.
Fact. Have you ever looked deep into a spiral? They are mesmerising aren’t they? Have you ever seen the fractal patterns that occur in the universe around us? Well the folks over at spiral gallery have complied some beautiful examples.

Zombo. I can’t quite remember how I got to it. Maybe through a wiki article? It was used as an example of preserving all things internet. Like it was an important piece of internet culture. Something the IP archoeologists might want to look at a few thousand years from now as being an exemplary part of the intraweb. click here to make some sense of this, sort of
By now most people have come across Alienware in some form or other. For me it was a love affair via their website. One of those sites I would check out from time to time back in my gaming days, and drool over what amounted to the best gaming machines (and therefore best pc’s) money could buy. Or couldn’t in my case.
A friend turned up out of the blue from Korea one day sporting a live in the flesh Alienware laptop. What a beast. More of a mobile desktop than a laptop but that is what I desire anyway. ‘Portables’ are for wimps.
I was pretty surprised to stumble across the l computers website the other day. Alienware has some competition been supplanted as my no. 1 dream machine. It was that easy. Here’s why!

You need to see this website for it all to sink in. But take a look at snaps of their desktops and laptops after the jump.
There comes a time when you realise you may just be in over your head. I think this is a common occurance with visitors coming to New Zealand as you can see from these motivational posters.
If that doesn’t say it. I don’t know what does.

Well done. Well done. Some smart cookies over at usbcells have created a USB rechargeable battery cell for all your mobile needs. When the battery becomes flat simply plug it into any free USB slot to charge it. No need to carry bulky chargers or cable, it is all built in. Fantastic. Now all I want to see is a solar one that you just leave in the sun and it charges itself.

I have been using iTunes for the last year or so as my primary music catalog. I has a nice clean interface and is relatively painless to drive. My only gripe was that I could find no way to permanently delete a song from the library while browsing the playlist.
This seems a massive oversite to me, leaving the cumbersome method of searching for the track in the library and deleting it from there. There had to be an easier way to delete directly from the playlist. Learn how after the jump!
This is a nice application that gives you tag searching capabilities built into a great viewer for flickr photos. Just type in the tag you want to search and it will show you the latest photos and related tags around the outside.

I always appreciate a clever website design. Jonathan Yuen’s site is stunning in its simplicity. Clean, crisp, and above all novel. It is good to see flash used to it’s potential.

Stumbled across this nice photo-journalist by the name of Gabe. There is an excellent series from Burning Man 2006. Absolutely amazing deco. I am thinking I may just have to make it there for next years party.

Have you ever thought about mapping out who the people are who rule the corporations and therefore control the world? I know I have. The good news is that Josh has gone ahead and created a web application to do it for you. You can go and add companies and then see how the members of the boards interrelate.
It took me a moment to figure out the interface once the intro is over. Just click load and choose a map. I think the most interesting was the 7 most powerful people in the [corporate] world.
The change in life pace has been intense. For the better part of a year now I have been living (and thinking) in slow time. This is the pace of real life. It is sedate and unhurried. It is peaceful and meditative. In slow time you are alive and fully aware of your surroundings. You are easily able to slip into present moment awareness.
I think I may have mentioned this recently. Now I have the photo to show you what I mean. Vancouver’s central city residents have a habit of digging up the council’s grass edging a turning it into a garden. So lovely to see. It sure beats all this wasted water to keep lawns immaculate. click here for photoblog
