The change in life pace has been intense. For the better part of a year now I have been living (and thinking) in slow time. This is the pace of real life. It is sedate and unhurried. It is peaceful and meditative. In slow time you are alive and fully aware of your surroundings. You are easily able to slip into present moment awareness.
By contrast when you slip out of slow time and re-enter the world of quicktime everything moves at a swirling, hectic pace. “Busy. Busy. Busy.” as Bokonon says. Life is vastly different now. How can I fit everything in? How do I make time for living when working (or preparing for/travelling to /winding down from) takes up most of my waking hours? Where is the time for me? The ever present catch22 of money vs. time. has me by the throat, for the next eight months at least.
The more intense your working life is the harder it is to switch back to slow time. Some people never switch back. They live their whole lives in quicktime never fully realising that slowtime exists and that is where the important stuff happens.
How do you manage it?
