biological function of the third eye

12 10 2008

The sixth chakra in Kundalini yoga, the Anja, is located in the centre of the forehead. Also known as the third eye it is a focal point for inner reflection and symbolises a connection to the higher mental powers. With recent (>100 years) discoveries in Western science fingers point to the pineal gland as being the physical representation of the third eye. The possibility that the pineal gland could be a vestigal third physical eye is backed up with research into New Zealand’s native lizard, the Tuatara.

This short informative article highlights research into the pineal gland and the relationship between neurotransmitters like serotonin and melatonin, the third eye and psychactive substances like LSD-25.

touch screen concept phone multi device

27 11 2006

Gadgets IconSo here is a nice idea for a concept phone. Well it is a lot more than a phone actually. It can really become any device you want. The idea is to have one single touch screen face that can be illuminated with what ever buttons and widgets best represent the current device mode i.e cell phone.

samorost, a wonderful journey

29 09 2006

Time Waster IconA weird and wonderful journey awaits you. Vist other realms. Open some doors. Turn on. Tune In. Drop Out. I won’t even bother trying to explain it. You’ll just have to work it out for yourself I think.

and for the strangest site I have been to in a while, zombo

weblife iconZombo. I can’t quite remember how I got to it. Maybe through a wiki article? It was used as an example of preserving all things internet. Like it was an important piece of internet culture. Something the IP archoeologists might want to look at a few thousand years from now as being an exemplary part of the intraweb. click here to make some sense of this, sort of

technical dreams

6 07 2006

Woke up from a long sleep this morning dragged from a virtual hell. I was dreaming I was doing network support! Arrrgh. That sucks. I was in a hall where there had been an exam and I was trying to get their purposely disabled network up and running again.

Man why can’t I get some crazy shamanic flying dreams visiting little purple people in space or something rather than Tech Support calls ?

little people

8 06 2006

It’s a bit strange trying to shake off the effects of jetlag when you are staring out the window at 10pm and it is still light. It’s not like I have to get up and go to work so I quite enjoy the silence and stillness of lying awake in the early hours.

Had the clearest dream I have had in ages the other night. There were tiny Gullivers Travels sized, Far Side ‘esque people using the skirting boards around the house as a pathway for going about their business. I was stunned. This was an amazing scientific discovery. Crouching down for a closer look one of the little fellas stopped and was looking up at me. I realised he was shouting something to me. It was hard to hear so I got right down close to hear what he was saying. Turns out he was screaming “FUCK OFF!”.

Hilarious.
