kongai – online card game

12 08 2008

Time Waster IconIf you’ve ever been into card games and have some time to kill take a look at Kongai from Kongregate (an online gaming service). Kongai is collectible – but you get given a new card for winning matches and/or by completing challenges on other games on Kongregate. There are only 50 or so cards -  most of which are characters. You take 3 characters into battle and then use a scissors, paper, rock combat system to render your opponents characters to dust.

gf tf2 video clip

22 04 2008

Youtube iconGirlfriend Team Fortress 2 is a completely entertaining video montage from a guy who recorded his girlfriends first foray into the world of online first person shooters.

Basically I recorded my girlfriend (who I would not call a gamer) playing Team Fortress 2 for the first time.
It’s quiet an interesting experiment, to see how her skills improve as she gets over the initial learning curve and how she doesn’t have any of the ground work that most gamers have in knowing the general rule sets and principles of games.

battlefield heroes – free to play cartoon fps

4 03 2008

Time Waster IconLooking for a FPS game where you won’t be shot in the face repeatedly by a swearing ultra skilled 15 year old boy who plays the game for 8 hours a day? We’ll the forthcoming release of Battlefield Heroes from EA Digital Illusions might just be your thing. It promises FUN! Remember that from the days of the C64? And it’s FREE.

Free to download AND free to play. I wonder what their scheme for making $ is then? We all know EA aren’t Altruists. I guess they will have purchasable upgrades or something of the kind. Anyway it looks like it could amuse me for 15 minutes. Due out summer 2008
