Just bear with me here. Testing is underway at the moment in Tokyo (where else?) for producing tiny Origami paper planes suitable for withstanding re-entry into the atmosphere. Their tiny mass means they are not so vulnerable to the effects of the atmosphere as a heavier object like the space shuttle. Quite what the point of it all is anyones guess at this stage unless you are into ‘messages in a bottle’ from space… or super cheap spy planes…
