Car Free Commercial Drive was a huge hit yesterday with the streets literally packed with thousands of people enjoying the sun and the spectacle. I snapped some pics . Here is a sample. The rest are available via the linkage below.

If you’ve ever been to an outdoor party in the jungle and just when the sun comes up the police turn up to stop the music? Well here’s a peaceful solution.

It has got to be a hard life – yet ultimately liberating. A beautiful glimpse into the life of squatters who live their life in, on, or around trains.

Matt has cleverly manifested a bunch of things in his life that have allowed him to travel a lot of the world in the last couple of years. At each place he has visited he has danced. He hasn’t danced very well, and is the first to admit it. But it just doesn’t matter as you’ll see.
Matt is not rich. Matt also doesn’t have some magical secret for traveling cheaply. He does it pretty much the same way everybody else does [apart from the dancing!?!?!!. Ed]

Here is a look at a new prototype car by Venturi that they tout as an ‘autonomous energy vehicle’. Autonomous in the sense that the batteries will allow it to cover 30 miles on a full charge, and the solar panels and wind gust chargers will recharge the batteries. If you happen to live in London and the greyness isn’t giving your batteries the loving they need you can always plug it into AC.
First production runs are limited to 200 so I would imagine the $30,000 price tag won’t be high enough to scare off those fast adopters whose carbon debt won’t let them sleep at night.

How much do you believe? Do you have any doubts? Mind deprogramming might just be called for.
7/7 Mind the Gap is an interesting documentary about how the Intelligence Services have played a role in the London bombing. The story is compelling so I recommend taking a look.

MI5 whistleblower David Shayler presents new evidence to demand London bombings enquiry. A very detailed and well evidenced documentary

Yes. It is now official. So you may have heard me mention how bad Greydog has been in my experience in Canada. If not I am going to recap a bit for you.
The biggest problem with Greydog seems to be that they don’t actually have any customer service. Why? They are a virtual monopoly. Even up in Canada. So like all good monopolies they do pretty much what ever the hell they feel like and this attitude filters down from the man at the top to the lowliest bus or delivery driver. I know this because I have experienced it again and again.
The leaders (?) in personal transport, Segway, have released details of their two new models, the i2 and the x2. If you are unfamiliar with Segway they are the folks who developed a stand-up, electric, essentially gyro assisted, personal transport, the Segway, a few years back.
The i2 is a revamp of the existing Segeway, with the x2 a more rugged ‘off road’ device. I don’t know really just how off road it would be, but as they zip along at 20kph and can handle all sorts of sharp turns (including pivoting on the spot) with their new lean technology they would certainly be worth a look.
