These are some pics from our trip into downtown yesterday to lend our support to a “Get Canadian Troops out of Afganistan” protest rally infront of the army recruiting office. Disappointingly small turn out but didn’t really expect anything different.
Was pretty funny to see a couple of police turn up. Both parked in one lane of traffic completely blocking it (one is his fuel saving, around town, SUV?!?!?) and then proceeded to get the organiser to move thier people to leave more room for pedestrians (there was already a 2m gap) to get past. I think the irony was lost on them.
Seeing some good street art is probably one of the only redeeming things about walking through the dodgier sections of town and was the more heart warming part of the trip.
