We rose to a glorious day and decided we would brave the outside world and do some walking. We wandered about from 11am to 5pm covering all the oceanfront from here to town and into Stanley park at the West edge of town. Luckily we left with water and hats otherwise we would have been severely roasted by the time we got home. As it was we showered and promptly took an hour of crew rest.
We stumbled our way into the Festival of India and joined the garland throwing, sari wearing crowd receiving blessings from the Brahman. We were transported to recent memories of India with a simple closing of the eyes. Wonderful. What a nice vibe with the Hare Krishna’s chanting and stomping.
We skipped on the ‘Free Feast’ as the line was enormous and had only a cursory wander amongst the stalls. We elected not to purchase a $28 lungi, nor the $2 for 6 sticks of incense and carried on further into the park.
What the hell are those? Raccoons? Awesome. Tick them off the list of critters to see in Canada. They are big! Carried on to chillout with some bagels and cheese spread (thats why it’s hard to go Vegan) wile a big black squirrel wandered through where we were sitting. Fearless little bugger.
