Wow have we done some walking in the last week. Since we crossed the border we’ve been walking around and around the Commercial Drive area, in East Vancouver. This way and that, looking for a place to live. In our own place, or in a shared place? Over here. How far is that? Our transit ticket has expired, lets just walk eh? On the phone. Back to The Drive. Into a cafe. Find a power point that isn’t in use. Damn nothing here. Wow it sure is busy today.

Walk some more. Next cafe. Ah ha, power socket! Wish the laptop had a battery that worked, still it is proving really useful. WiFi is enabled. Sweet we’re on. Check the ever useful Vancouver Craigslist. Make some more phone calls. Check the email. Pack the laptop up. Hit the pavement again. We’re walking. We’re walking. How far this time? Hmm seems a bit far off where we want to be, damn. This place sucks. They want how much? Screw that. Back to the Drive
– Cafe Toilet Door (Commercial Drive, Vancouver)
This is the nice artistic door in the toilet of Blacks Cafe (I think it is).
We start asking random people in the cafe if they know of anyone with a place. Why the hell not. People are helpful here. Met a lovely girl, she may know a place. Takes our details. Meet two more people. Nice and friendly. Maybe a place in their big shared house? If not some we’re meeting some nice people anyway. Lets hope we see them again. Paths will cross I’m sure. More walking. Ah finally a bus ride home. Whoa. time to crash.
Rinse and repeat for tomorrow.
