Well as some of you already know I like sound. I have always been interested in music and was lucky enough to have been exposed to some very on to it people regarding audio at an early age. I learnt a lot, but just enough to realise that I really knew nothing (that seems to be the case all the time doesn’t it?).
With a friend we built a number of in-car systems including one system with 4 15″ subs in the back of a coupe. I came to realise just how precise things had to be to get the most out of your gear. At the time I probably didn’t have the patience to make things as perfectly as they really needed to be so I am always interested to see people making their own speaker enclosures to a high standard.
I just came across a site by Edo where he documents his own speaker building projects. Some pretty nice looking speakers if you are into that sort of thing.
I doubt I’ll be making any myself in the immediate future, it’s difficult without a workshop and the necessary tools. I suspect my next pair of speaker will be this pair of powered studio monitors from Alesis, the 620 model I think. I heard the older model at a friends place in Bangalore and they seemed to do the job pretty well. Should fill a one bedroom apartment more than sufficiently. Makes me wonder why I shipped my 5.1 amp over though?
